Splash and play all day in Kissimmee
If there’s one question we hear more than any other, it’s "when is the best time to visit Kissimmee?" And the truth of the matter is, there’s no one correct answer. That’s because exciting things are happening here all year long! Here’s why it’s always a good time to visit Kissimmee.
Flowers & International Flavors Bloom in Spring
Flower Garden at Epcot International
We have to admit — we love springtime in Kissimmee. The weather gets warmer, the flowers begin to bloom, and there are plenty of festivals going on.
Throughout March, April, and May, the average high is approximately 82 degrees, while the average low is about 59. This makes for pleasant days and evenings, and on average, about 14 days of rain. This is the time of year you’ll want to bring along a light jacket just in case, but you'll likely be comfortable either way.
If you have a green thumb, you’ll appreciate the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival at Walt Disney World. Every year, the festival buds with living sculptures, gorgeous gardens, and elaborate topiary displays inspired by your favorite Disney characters, from princesses to Pixar characters to the classics. Also during the festival, get a taste of cuisines from around the world by sampling food from the outdoor kitchens, and hear live music as part of the Garden Rocks Concert Series.
Spring at beautiful Bok Tower Gardens
Beyond the big theme parks, make your way to Bok Tower Gardens for the International Carillon Festival, when you can hear Broadway tunes from the singing tower's bells as you stroll through the flowers in bloom, including the azaleas, camellias, and magnolias that highlight spring.
Mardi Gras at Universal Orlando Resort
Food lovers will also find spring festivals just for them. The Seven Seas Food Festival at SeaWorld Orlando Parks & Resorts serves up more than 200 menu items to pair with cocktails, craft brews and wines, plus live concerts Friday–Sunday.
The Mardi Gras season might end in late winter, but Universal Orlando Resort keeps the celebration going into April, with decorated floats, a lineup of live performances, and food from around the world. Oh, and did we mention beads? Because the beads are flying all festival long!
Wonderful weather mixed with a nonstop schedule of festivals? Spring might just be king here in Kissimmee.
Splish, Splash, Kissimmee Summers are a Blast!

If hot weather is what you crave, then summer is when you want to be in Kissimmee. Throughout June, July, August, and September, you can expect average high temperatures around 89 degrees, with some days creeping into the 90s. Average lows, on the other hand, are typically about 72 degrees. Summer is also Central Florida’s rainy season, and the afternoon showers help cool off the evenings.
Where the slides zig, zag, and zoom — making every splash feel like the coolest victory lap of your vacation.
In summer, we love spending our warm days at the water parks. At Island H2O Water Park, you can race down slides like Follow Me Falls, relax in the current of Chat Creek Lazy River, and choose from mild-to-wild things to do in between. Want to feel like a beach bum? There’s no better spot than Aquatica Orlando, the water park at SeaWorld. Where else will you find sandy beaches, side-by-side wave pools — named Best Wave Pool in America by USA Today’s 10Best Readers' Choice Awards — not to mention more than 40 water slides, pools, and splash areas? If you’re looking for island vibes in the heart of Central Florida, Universal’s Volcano Bay is the spot for you. Spend your day your way, whether that means reading in the shade of a private, waterside cabana or dropping 125 feet on the Ko’okiri Body Plunge.
Family swimming with the dolphins at Discovery Cove
Want to take a dip with friends from under the sea? Make your way to Discovery Cove, and spend the day swimming with dolphins, snorkeling with rays and thousands of tropical fish, or wandering through the aviary or strolling through the flamingo habitat. If an unforgettable animal encounter is on your to-do list, this is where you want to be.
There’s no doubt about it — if warm weather is your favorite, you’ll want to be in Kissimmee in summer!
Kissimmee in Fall Has It All
A toast at EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival
Fall is when Central Florida's iconic seasonal events are in full swing. It’s also when you’ll start seeing less rain and cooler temperatures. Throughout October and November, the average high temperature is 79 degrees, while the average low is about 58 degrees. That said, there are still plenty of opportunities for warm days lounging in the sun. The key is to pack layering pieces so you can warm up or chill out as you wish.
As we said, fall is a popular time for festivals, starting with the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival. This festival — which actually kicks off in late summer and runs through the fall — takes you on a foodie world tour featuring cuisine from all corners of the globe, as well as live entertainment, culinary demonstrations, and plenty of delicious fun for everyone!
Halloween fun for everyone at Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party

Over at Magic Kingdom Park, you’ll find Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, an annual event featuring characters dressed in their Halloween costumes, a specially themed parade and fireworks show, trick-or-treating throughout the park, and fun, not-so-spooky surprises.
Get ready for the ultimate scare at Halloween Horror Nights / Universal Orlando Resort
If you’d prefer something a little spookier, you’ll love Halloween Horror Nights over at Universal Studios Florida. Universal takes Halloween very seriously, which means this event offers plenty of haunted houses and scare zones for you (and any guest over the age of 13). There are also spookily themed attractions, themed snacks and drinks, and eerie entertainment throughout the park.
Get ready to build the perfect Halloween, brick by brick

During this seasonal event, the Sesame Street gang is out and about, plus find opportunities to trick-or-treat and load up on candy. Or head to LEGOLAND Florida for Brick-or-Treat. Where else can you see LEGO zombies, and mummies, watch an award-winning Halloween drone show, and attend a dance party hosted by Lord Vampyre?
If you’re looking for a nice mix of weather and activities, fall might be the perfect time to land here.
Winter is a Gift in Kissimmee
Festive fun and timeless magic await at Walt Disney World Resort near Kissimmee.
The winter months are a popular time to visit Kissimmee, thanks to light rainfall, beautiful days, and pleasant temperatures. The average high throughout December, January, and February is around 74, while you’ll see an average low of between 50 and 51 degrees. That’s got to sound pretty good, especially if you’re visiting from a snowy part of the world!
Of course, it’s not just the temperatures that have folks flocking to Kissimmee during the winter. It’s a special season for so many, and we pull out all the stops to celebrate it. “Yule” find events and beloved holiday traditions taking place throughout the Walt Disney World Resort, including Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom Park and the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays.
Celebrate the holidays at LEGOLAND!
Universal Orlando Resort also gets in on the fun, with Christmas in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Grinchmas, and iconic giant balloons in the holiday parade. And if that’s not enough, check out the Christmas Celebration at SeaWorld or the Holidays at LEGOLAND, complete with a towering LEGO Christmas and appearances from "the big guy" himself — in LEGO form, of course!
One of our favorite things about winter here in Kissimmee is that you won't find festive fun only in the theme parks. There are legendary events like ICE!, part of Christmas at Gaylord Palms, and Now Snowing at Celebration Town Center, which transforms the town into a winter wonderland with carolers and an ice-skating rink.
The weather out here's not frightful, and the festivals are so delightful. In the winter, there’s one place to be ... Kissimmee, Kissimmee, Kissimmee!

As you can see, it’s impossible to say which time of year is the best to visit Kissimmee. No matter what you like, we have you covered. And speaking of covered, one thing we recommend regardless of the time of year is to pack (and wear) sunscreen throughout your visit.
