Family-Friendly Events in Kissimmee
In Kissimmee, family-friendly fests run the gamut from good old-fashioned rodeo fun to thrilling carnival rides and even exotic car auctions.
Kowtown Festival, the city of Kissimmee's official birthday party, celebrates with live music from local artists, vendors, and food trucks at Kissimmee Lakefront Park. Kids can run free at KUA Kids' Power Zone, then everyone can gather for a slice of birthday cake.
At Silver Spurs Rodeo, hear the cheers, catch the scent of fresh dirt, and feel the thunder of hooves pounding across the floor. The rodeo — the largest east of the Mississippi River — is held twice a year and features bull riding, bareback and saddle bronc riding, tie-down and team roping, steer wrestling, and women's barrel racing.
The Osceola County Fair, a favorite annual tradition, delivers classic, down-home family fun. Kids can meet and learn about award-winning cattle, sheep, pigs, and even rabbits at the livestock barn, then head to the carnival for a spin on the Ferris wheel or the carousel. At the same time, parents will enjoy browsing local goods and handmade gifts at the marketplace.
The world's largest collector-car auction, Mecum Auto Auction, showcases more than 4,500 iconic automobiles, from classic muscle cars and rare vintage rides to modern exotics. These cars really are legendary — think a 1965 Shelby 427 Cobra Roadster or a 1966 Ford GT40 Mkll Factory Lightweight. Grab a snack, explore the showroom, or snag a ticket for the Dodge Thrill Ride.
