When you’re in the mood for a thrill, Kissimmee has a lot to offer. Was it enough for the most highly decorated female martial artist in the world? Join Caitlin Dechelle as she explores the adrenaline-inducing side of Kissimmee and Central Florida, including a classic theme park ride, an extreme skills challenge, and a harrowing zip line over alligators. All this and more in the ninth episode of The Kissimmee Experience

Caitlin Dechelle

Born and raised in Miami, Florida, Caitlin Dechelle is quite familiar with the Florida sun. Her martial arts training began at 6 years old and she was competing by the time she was 8. Before retiring at 24 to pursue her dream of becoming a stunt performer, she went on to become the most decorated female martial artist in the world. Her stunt career began after being discovered by Jackie Chan, when he flew her out to co-star in Chinese Zodiac in 2012. Today, Caitlin has worked on projects like Wonder Woman, Hawkeye, The Mandalorian, and so much more! The drive and discipline she carries from her days as a martial artist truly makes her an inspiration.

The ette hotel was my fav! It smelled like a magical oasis, so Le Labo Santal 33 is now my new favorite scent. The staff was so friendly and helpful!

Tower of Terror

One of the most iconic structures in Central Florida is Tower of Terror, which first opened in 1994 when Disney’s Hollywood Studios was still known as MGM Studios. Still in operation today, it’s one of the classic thrill rides in the area, dropping guests 13 floors with a few jolting stops for a true Twilight Zone experience. Caitlin and show host Jen Bonner started their itinerary together at Hollywood Studios and kicked off the trip from there.

Xtreme Ninja Challenge

With a guest like Caitlin along for the ride, we couldn’t possibly skip Xtreme Ninja Challenge in Old Town Kissimmee, a one-of-a-kind experience that can’t be found anywhere else in Central Florida. The more than 2,600 square foot space offers an obstacle course based on the show “American Ninja Warrior”, and each step of the course varies in difficulty as the guest moves through. Jen and the crew tried their hand at a few pieces of the course, but Caitlin left them all in the dust.

Xtreme Ninja Challenge is just one of the many attractions in Old Town. Consistently ranking at the top of Kissimmee attractions in internet searches, Old Town has over 18 acres of property and over 70 unique, affordable shops and restaurants. Each week they feature car shows and regular live entertainment for the whole family, including an 86-foot tall ferris wheel hand-built from Italy.

I would definitely go back to Kissimmee... There are endless options of things to do. Each time could be a completely different experience, which I find so intriguing.

Zip Line at Gatorland

Where in the world can you ride a zip line over a marsh full of alligators? Only at Gatorland, only in Kissimmee. This unique, over-the-top attraction was the finale of Caitlin’s tour, and well worth the wait. It’s called the Screamin’ Gator Zip Line, and you can absolutely see gators swimming beneath you as you zip between each of the five towers.

At Gatorland, both kids and adults can experience a great variety of activities such as riding a monster truck, feeding gators (from just a few feet away!), and enjoying the petting zoo. There are several shows and a train ride as well, all just 15 minutes from the Orlando International Airport.

I have never been to Gatorland in all my years of living in Florida. The zip lines were so much fun and it was so beautiful being up in the trees!

Find Your Thrills in Kissimmee

Caitlin’s trip just scratched the surface of the adrenaline-pumping activities in and around Kissimmee. If you enjoy roller coasters, ride all seven at SeaWorld, the Coaster Capital of Orlando. For dizzying heights, try a helicopter ride with Orlando Helicopter Adventures. For a different type of thrill, try one of the many escape room experiences around town, such as Dare 2 Escape or The Escape Effect
