Kissimmee is a natural playground for anyone who’s ever been captivated by the animal kingdom, whether your favorites roam on four legs, glide on wings, or slither with style. It’s also the perfect backdrop for this episode of The Kissimmee Experience, where longtime wildlife educator and entertainer Jeff Musial steps into the sunshine to explore some of the destination’s most memorable animal encounters.

Known globally as “Jeff the Animal Guy,” Jeff has spent more than a decade bringing incredible creatures to screens around the world from The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to iCarly.

In Kissimmee, Jeff dives into everything from safari drives to Gatorland favorites to retro roadside charm, discovering what makes this destination a must-visit for animal lovers of every age. His journey is just a glimpse of the many wild experiences waiting for your own adventure.

Showcase of Citrus 

A quick ride up the road from Kissimmee is Showcase of Citrus, a fun Florida attraction for all ages, where you can also ride the “World’s Largest Monster Truck Safari,” a massive truck measuring 14 feet wide, 16 feet tall and about 40 feet long. Along the ride they fed animals including zebras, bison, water buffalo, and more.  

The location also features a gift shop with interesting and locally sourced items, such as a table lined with sodas of unique flavors, including ranch. Their location also serves wine, beer, slushies and other drinks to enjoy with a variety of food truck options.   

The Best Buffalo Wings South of Buffalo 

PG’s Subs & Wings has been serving up golden, perfectly crispy chicken wings in Kissimmee for more than 40 years, and locals will tell you it’s still one of the best spots in town for classic comfort food. The longtime general manager knows the menu inside and out, which might explain why everything here tastes like a perfected recipe passed down through generations.

Whether you’re craving saucy, flavor-packed wings, parmesan garlic that deserves its own fan club, or fried pickles that disappear faster than you’d expect, PG’s delivers. Friendly staff, a no-frills atmosphere, and a lineup of sauces that keep people coming back make this neighborhood staple well worth a stop.

Wild Florida Adventure Park

Drive-Thru Safari Park 

Wild Florida Adventure Park offers one of Central Florida’s most unforgettable wildlife experiences, starting with its Drive-Thru Safari Park. Guests can explore up to four miles of scenic terrain from the comfort of their own vehicle, spotting more than 150 native and exotic animals that roam freely across wide, open habitats. For an even closer look, the park’s VIP tour takes visitors off the main path in a safari buggy led by an animal expert, which is perfect for those who want deeper insight into the species that call the park home.

Gator Park 

Among the many highlights, the camels tend to charm just about everyone, and the park’s extensive Gator Park introduces visitors to more than 200 additional animals, including an impressive array of rare snakes. Wildlife encounters are a big draw here, from meeting capybaras — like the trio affectionately known as Alvin, Simon, and Theodore — to seeing one of Wild Florida’s most remarkable residents: a pair of albino alligators. Snowflake and Blizzard became the first breeding pair of albino alligators in Central Florida and remain among only a handful recorded in human care.

Visitors looking to spend a full day will find plenty to enjoy. Admission to the Gator Park is included with Drive-Thru Safari tickets, airboat rides offer an exhilarating look at the headwaters of the Everglades, and the Chomp House Grill serves up a delicious lunch that pairs perfectly with an afternoon of adventure.
