Animal Encounters

You may have been to a petting zoo, but these animal encounters take it to the next level! You can get up close and personal to several different animals, including sloths, alligators, ring-tailed lemurs, albino gator, porcupine, capybara, and tamandua. Albino alligators are one of the rarest animals roaming the world – there are only about 200! Their pink-white skin makes them susceptible to sunburns and their lack of camouflage puts them at a real disadvantage. And if you’ve never seen a capybara or tamandua before, you’ll learn so much about them when you visit!

  • Crusher – the largest gator at Wild Florida Adventure Park
    • Favorite snack is chicken
    • Loves smashing pumpkins and watermelon
    • He’s over 65 years old
    • Natural habitat are freshwater rivers, lakes, swamps, and marshes
    • Can weigh from 200 to 500 pounds
  • Flurry – the baby albino gator
    • World’s only albino gator (along with his siblings) to hatch at a facility open to the public
    • There are only 12 recorded albino alligators living in human care
    • Can weigh from 200 to 500 pounds
    • Can live 35 to 50 years in the wild and 65 to 75 years in human care
    • Eats mainly fish, turtles, snacks, and small mammals

Is it time for a snack? The on-site restaurant is the perfect place to chow down on some tasty treats. Cool off with their signature Swamp Slushy or try the barbecue and burgers for a more sustainable meal. Enjoy your food out on a patio rocking chair, in the AC of the Cypress Ballroom, or under the shaded Gator Pavilion along Lake Cypress.
