The countdown to Halloween is officially on! Before you know it, kids will be taking to the streets for trick-or-treating and mini candy bars will be a staple in everyone’s diet for at least a week (no judgment)! Here in Kissimmee, we’ve been celebrating for weeks with a slew of frightfully fun family events.

If you can’t join us here in Kissimmee for the spookiest day of the year, you can still inject a little Florida fun into your Halloween. Try one of these Kissimmee-themed treats for your Halloween party at home!

Orange-O’-Lanterns

Bring the quintessential taste of central Florida to your home this Halloween! Make a quick and easy fruit salad and serve to your guests in a Florida orange carved like a Jack-O’-Lantern. This healthy snack is a creative way to delight family and friends of all ages. Moreover, it will help balance out all of the sugary sweets that are sure to be on a regular rotation at this time of year.

Butterscotch Brew

Relive the magic of Universal Orlando’s The Wizarding World of Harry Potter and brew up a delicious, DIY buttery potion. We love this simple recipe.

Ingredients:

  • Cream soda
  • Butterscotch sauce
  • Whipped topping

Assemble your butterscotch brew by drizzling approximately one tablespoon of butterscotch sauce in a large cup (preferably pre-chilled) so that it coats the walls of the glass. Pour your cream soda in the mug and top with a mountain of whipped topping and another drizzle of the butterscotch sauce. If you want it to be even more fun, turn it into a float by adding a scoop of vanilla or butterscotch ripple ice cream!

Deviled Gator Eggs

OK, these “gator” eggs are just everyday, regular eggs, but no one needs to know that! Recipes for deviled eggs are often personal to every family, so take your favorite recipe and make your filling gator green by incorporating any (or all!) of the following tasty ingredients:

  • Mashed avocado
  • Finely chopped chives or green onions
  • Pureed spinach
  • Finely chopped asparagus
  • Fresh dill

Snow White’s “Poison” Apples

Take a bite out of Snow White’s book and make these wickedly good candy “poison” apples! Use a kit to make a candy or caramel coating, or put the extra time into making them from scratch. Then, add some dark purple or black food coloring for an extra-spooky sweet treat.
