Christmas at Gaylord Palms

Good grief! We are only a month into the summer and the Gaylord Palms is already getting started on its Christmas plans for the annual Christmas at Gaylord Palms!

This walk-through holiday attraction, kept at a chilly 9 degrees, is the perfect addition to your holiday visit to Kissimmee and the perfect way to beat the Florida heat!

New this year:

Theme: Watching A Charlie Brown Christmas is a must around my house every December so you can imagine how overjoyed I was after finding out that this year's theme for Christmas at Gaylord Palms is in fact A Charlie Brown Christmas by Charles Schulz.

Watch Charlie Brown rediscover the true meaning of Christmas as the beloved, classic story unfolds through interactive ice sculptures and displays, hand-carved from two million pounds of ice by a team of artisans from Harbin, China. Experience the Peanuts gang in iconic scenes such as their holiday play rehearsal, Snoopy's decorated doghouse and Charlie Brown choosing the perfect Christmas tree.

Mrs. Claus' Holiday Traditions: During this 30-minute interactive show, guests can cozy around to sing-along to carols, delight in the reading of classic stories and enjoy world-famous cookies and milk prepared by the jolliest hostess around, Mrs. Claus.

Santa's Snow Throw: Who says you can't throw a snowball in Florida? At Santa's Snow Throw, guests are invited to show off their pitching prowess by tossing real snowballs at a variety of targets.

Breakfast with Charlie Brown & Friends: This interactive character breakfast buffet includes dishes such as Charlie Brown's Build-Your-Own-French-Toast station with Snoopy's Maple Syrup, Pig Pen's Dirty Hash Browns, Lucy's Flap Jacks and Woodstock's Granola.

The 54-foot Christmas tree is going away... and if you are like me, you clutched your heart at the news and sighed audibly. However, guests will revel in the all new light show ignited by the hotel's new LED-based 60-foot Christmas tree! The stunning atrium will set the scene for A Christmas Wish, a new, free six-minute light show where narration, classic holiday music and dazzling visual effects converge to create a spirited seasonal celebration.

Returning this year:

Guests can expect the return of the spellbinding Cirque Dreams Unwrapped, featuring 25 minutes of breathtaking artistry from around the world. The Elf on the Shelf Scavenger Hunt is also returning this holiday season and guests who help the scout elves will receive a special prize.

From building gingerbread houses at the Gingerbread Decorating Corner and visiting a life-sized gingerbread man for hugs to building your very own friend at the Build-A-Bear Workshop, you will not run out of opportunities to unleash your creative side!

The Alpine Rush is back this year along with Cosmic Snow Tubing and the all-new Down with the Decades. Cosmic tubing turns up the fun with flashing LED lights and high-spirited holiday music while Down with the Decades blasts popular music from way-back-when (you're welcome, Mom).

And of course, the adult-only bar, On the Blocks will be making its return inside of the ICE! attraction. Adults can enjoy three beverage samplings: The Jolly Mint specialty drink featuring Jackson Morgan Southern Cream and Hangar One Vodka; a Goose Island Beer; plus a Merry Margarita featuring Milagro Tequila.
