There's no better way to chill out than with a visit to a heat-beating water park on a sizzling Florida day. Luckily, Central Florida boasts some of the most fun and exciting ways to splash the day away. With everything from tunnel slides to saltwater reefs, melted ski hills to scenic sea life, and rapids to lazy rivers, our water parks offer the ultimate in aquatic adventures. Here’s our guide to Kissimmee’s world-class water parks.

Universal’s Volcano Bay Water Theme Park

The perfect balance between over-the-top fun and serene surroundings, find your zen at Universal’s Volcano Bay.

Take on a carefree attitude as you make your way through this Pacific Island-style water park, inspired by the adventurous spirit of the Waturi people. Here, thrills and relaxation flow in perfect harmony. Brave rugged terrain as you careen down volcanoes, and even in them, on the Krakatau Aqua Coaster. Become an honorary Waturi and join a centuries-old tradition of honoring the volcano god, Vol, with a 70-degree fall from the Ko’okiri Body Plunge.

Invoke your own warrior spirit on a gladiator-style course through ropes to plunge down the waterfall drops of the Ohno of Ohya and Ohno Drop slides or race your buddies down the Kala & Tai Nui enclosed serpentine body slides, modeled after sacred puka trees. Then, soak your weary bones in the Kapiko Kai winding river or take in unforgettable views of the sparkling lagoon at Waturi Beach.

Whet your appetite: Relax in your own waterside cabana with comfy seating, concierge service, and more or get a taste of the South Pacific with over 60 unique menu items at the water park’s restaurant.

Aquatica, SeaWorld's Waterpark

Trade your flip-flops for flippers at Aquatica, SeaWorld's Waterpark that intermingles marine life with aquatic adventure. Experience a crazy mashup of 42 high-speed water slides, exhilarating wave pools, and tranquil 84,000 square feet of beach, river, and lagoons!

From mild to wild, Aquatica has attractions for all ages. At Dolphin Plunge, take a clear tube slide straight through a tank of Commerson's dolphins before embarking on a free-fall at Ihu's Breakaway Falls, Central Florida’s steepest and only multi-drop tower slide. Then, challenge the laws of physics on the gravity-defying Tassie’s Twisters and velocity-racked Whanau Way tower slides. Ride the tide at Cutback Cove and Big Surf Shore, two giant side-by-side wave pools. Or slow it down to a turtle’s pace to catch a majestic view of loggerhead turtles down the Loggerhead Lane lazy river ride.

For the kids, Walkabout Waters presents a multi-story fortress of shallow pools, water cannons, and whimsical characters, while Kata's Kookaburra Cove offers a shallow play area with gentle slides designed for the littlest minnows in the group.

Whet your appetite: The Banana Beach Cookout has pulled pork, hot dogs, and other grill favs available all day.

Swim with the fishes, literally, at SeaWorld's Discovery Cove. This exclusive park offers guests a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to swim and interact with dolphins while also enjoying other unique experiences like walking on the bottom of the sea, feeding tropical birds, and swimming next to playful otters. The Dolphin Lagoon, Discovery Cove's signature attraction, offers a 30-minute swim with one of the park's bottlenose dolphins. The Freshwater Oasis attraction offers face-to-face encounters with otters along a partially submerged tunnel that you can swim through.
