June 23, 2023 – The National Football League has announced the line-up for the NFL UK Flag Football National Championships to be held on 28 June at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with 20 teams from across the UK set to take part.
Local and regional qualification tournaments saw 192 schools, 1,920 pupils (boys and girls aged 10-13) and 384 coaches involved across the UK, highlighting the growing appeal and NFL’s long-standing commitment to grow the sport in the UK.
Flag Football is the non-contact version of American Football, played by boys and girls, and is one of the fastest-growing sports globally. Flag football is fun, exciting, and accessible for all; with women and girls driving some of the fastest growth in the sport.
This year will see the culmination of nine weeks of regional tournaments with the biggest ever national finals, including the first ever secondary school finals, alongside, the annual event for primary schools.
Supporting the event on the day will be Washington Commanders star Efe Obada, Baltimore Ravens linebacker, David Ojabo, Chicago Bears wide receiver, Chase Claypool and Team GB NFL Flag player, Phoebe Schecter, who will all be in attendance to offer encouragement, insight and motivation to the teams.

NFL Flag UK, supported by Experience Kissimmee, was first introduced into the UK in 2017. The noncontact format of the game has quickly become one of the fastest-growing sports in the UK and is currently played in 470 schools by 28,000 people across 26 UK regions.
Globally, flag football is played by more than 20 million people in over 100 countries. It provides a structured opportunity for youth to play the game whilst discovering the importance of sportsmanship, teamwork, and friendship both on and off the field.
