An Oasis of Fun at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park

There’s no shortage of beautiful sandy beaches, gentle waves, and thrilling water adventures to enjoy at Typhoon Lagoon Water Park. Let the fun flow!

The Surf Pool at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park

Cool off in the Surf Pool at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon

With a mix of thrilling slides and refreshing water experiences, Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park is not a bad place to be shipwrecked on a sunny Florida day.

Dip Into North America’s Largest Wave Pool

Get your feet wet with Typhoon Lagoon’s signature feature: The Typhoon Lagoon Surf Pool, where the warm-water waves start off as small ripples then crest at dramatic 6-feet heights – ideal for body surfing. The lulls give you a chance to catch your breath before riding the swells and paddling toward the beautiful white-sand beach.

Experienced surfers can book a private 3-hour surf session in the pool before the park opens or after it closes, and less skilled riders can take a class taught by pros.

Slide, Raft & Plunge on Gushing Water Rides

There’s something for swimmers and splashers of every age and skill level at Typhoon Lagoon.

Chase Thrills on Rides for Adults, Tweens, Teens & Older Kids

Set in a mock abandoned fruit-processing plant, Crush ‘n’ Gusher water coaster will have you climbing uphill, rocketing down, then snaking around a 400-foot-long tube slide, propelled by gushing water.

If five-story vertical drops in the dark are your thing, the enclosed body slides of Humunga Kowabunga stand at the ready to ensure a totally thrilling plummet down shrimpboat-topped Mount Mayday.

Get yourself back up Mount Mayday for the Keelhaul Falls whitewater rapids experience that pushes you through caverns and spins you under cascading falls to ultimately deposit you in a waterhole. To ride rapids on an inner tube, head to the waterslide at Mayday Falls – the longest and highest in the water park.

Make a Splash in Creeks, Rivers & Pools for Preschoolers, Kids & Tweens

Perfect for tots, the gentle curves of the twin beginner-level body slides at Bay Slides provide a dose of mellow thrills with plenty of fun. The lazy river at Castaway Creek is made for the loungers among you – take a break from the thrills and float in your inner tube past falls, grottoes, and a rainforest.

Ketchakiddee Creek offers another way for small kids to go with the flow – by splashing in a cave and shallow pools with make-believe critters, firing a water cannon, and shooting down mini waterslides.

Enjoy Tube & Raft Rides for All Ages

More inner tube fun on rapids awaits at Gangplank Falls – coast, spin, and bank with your gang along a 300-foot waterslide rimmed with waterfalls and boulders.

Miss Adventure Falls offers another way to go whitewater rafting with your crew. Hang on tight with up to three others as you ride rapids and spot valuable relics of a mock shipwreck along the way.

At Storm Slides, select one of three super cool body slides and zip down the rock-strewn landscape toward a grand waterfall splashdown.

Refuel at Beachy Dining Spots

The water park is peppered with great places to grab a bite and recharge – all housed in structures with cool topical island-themed designs.

Pick up classic eats like burgers, pizza, and sandwiches at Leaning Palms; wraps, snacks, and suds at Lowtide Lou’s; nachos, desserts, and drinks (with or without alcohol) at Snack Shack; and fish baskets, sweets, and drinks at Typhoon Tilly’s. For frozen and on-the-rocks bar drinks, hit up Let’s Go Slurpin’.

Enhance Your Visit to Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park

Balance out your crew’s fun in the sun with chill time in the shade via the water park’s rental options: Arrange for a Beachcomber Shack; it’s available in different sizes and comes with attendant service, lounge chairs, a locker, cold water, towels, souvenir mugs, and more for up to 12 guests. Or rent a Getaway Glen Umbrella for up to four guests; it’s accessorized with two lounge chairs and two beach chairs, plus a drink table and towels.

Shopping for beach gear and souvenirs also provides a cool respite from the sun. Head to Singapore Sal’s for gifts and anything you might need for your visit.
