Kissimmee, Fla. (March 20, 2019) – Spring is here, and summer is just around the corner. That means it’s the perfect season to soak up the fun and sun in Kissimmee. From new coasters to water parks, check out the exciting experiences you can only find in Kissimmee.
Walt Disney World Resort
The highly anticipated land, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, is set to open at Disney’s Hollywood Studios on August 29. On the first phase of the opening, guests can experience the remote planet of Batuu and become part of the story by taking control of the most famous ship in the galaxy aboard Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run. Guests can expect the second phase of the land to open later this year featuring an immersive attraction, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance.
Starting March 31, experience a new show at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy. The exciting new adventure takes guests inside the Cars universe.
Also at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, is the new Disney Junior Dance Party! Dance with kid favorites like Vampirina, Doc McStuffins, Timon, and even Mickey during this high-energy production that takes place several times a day.
Universal Orlando Resort
Experience the long-awaited new ride, Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure this summer. Opening June 13, in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Hogsmeade at Universal’s Islands of Adventure, this will be the most highly themed coaster yet. Guests will fly with Hagrid on a thrilling roller coaster ride that plunges into the path of some of the wizarding world’s rarest magical creatures.
Sesame Street at SeaWorld Orlando is opening on March 27. The six-acre attraction will allow guests to stroll down Sesame Street and stop by the famous stoop at 123. It will feature an award-winning parade, wet and dry play areas, rides, and an interactive neighborhood.
LEGOLAND Florida Resort
Returning on March 9, LEGOLAND Water Park kicks off its newest, and longest, season. This season, Joker Soaker, a popular water play structure that dumps a 300-gallon bucket of water on guests, has received a complete outer refurbishment with enhanced features for guests to enjoy
Margaritaville Resort Orlando
Central Florida’s newest water park, Island H2O Live!, opens this spring at Margaritaville Resort Orlando. It will be an immersive experience with 20 slides and thrilling experiences, including a lazy river, wave pool, kids’ area, and river raft ride for the whole family. The park features a new RFID wristband system, called Vantage that will enable guests to personalize the music and lighting they experience on select rides, making every time unique.
Wild Florida Airboats & Gator Park
A drive-through safari park is expected to open this summer at Wild Florida. The exciting adventure will allow guests to choose to drive their personal cars or ride on a guided swamp buggy tour through the park. Inside the drive-through park, guests will be able to see more than 100 exotic animals and native Florida wildlife like white-tailed deer, wild boar, cracker cows, zebras, watusi, and giraffes.
Old Town Kissimmee
Old Town unveils its last phase of renovation on April 6. The reimagined Front Plaza is located next to Old Town’s 86-foot Ferris wheel. The additions include an all new Shoney’s, Nathan’s Famous Hot Dogs, Bobby’s Garage Bar, and five additional retail spaces.
Cirque Theater features two new dinner shows: Cirque Magique and Cirque By Night. Both shows include unbelievable magical acts and multi-course meals. Cirque Magique is open at 4:30 p.m. Friday to Sunday. Cirque By Night starts at 7:30 p.m. Friday to Sunday.
Celebrate Kissimmee’s 135th birthday at the annual Kowtown Festival at Kissimmee Lakefront Park on March 30. Enjoy live music, food trucks, and craft vendors.
Make sure to stop and smell the roses at Walt Disney World’s 26th Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival until June 3. The event features dozens of Disney-crafted topiaries, the Garden Rocks Concert series, and more.
SeaWorld Orlando is hosting Furry Friends Fun Run at the newly opened Sesame Street on May 11. The 3-mile race will go through the park’s picturesque pathways and right through the iconic Sesame Street neighborhood. Participants are welcome to run, skip, jog, or stroll.
Experience SeaWorld Orlando’s unforgettable nighttime event, Electric Ocean, returning for another summer of fun from May 21 to Sept. 1. With exciting shows and electrifying music, guests are immersed in a sea of wonder that ends in “Ignite,” a spectacular finale with fireworks, lasers, and fountains.
This summer mermaids take over the SeaLife Orlando Aquarium performing unbelievable underwater feats with a new Meet a Mermaid! event. Get a closer look at the mermaids as they swim amongst beautiful sea creatures.
Celebrate Old Town’s 29th Anniversary of the Saturday Nite Classic Car Show and Cruise on April 6. The event features live music, entertainment, and, of course, classic cars from yesteryear. It all kickoffs at 11:00 a.m., with the traditional Saturday Car Cruise at 8:30 p.m. and live music until 11:00 p.m.

Showtimes are at 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.
