Kissimmee houses Orlando Predators arena football team during 2021 season

Kissimmee, Fla. (June 17, 2021) – The Kissimmee Sports Commission is proud to be named the official housing partner for the Orlando Predators.

The arena football team was founded in 1991 as an expansion team of the Arena Football League (AFL). Between 1992 and 2011, the Orlando Predators advanced to the playoffs 19 consecutive seasons – becoming ArenaBowl champions in 1998 and 2000.

In 2019, the team found a new home in the National Arena League (NAL), playing against teams such as the Jacksonville Sharks, Carolina Cobras, Jersey Flight, Columbus Lions, and more.

While the 2020 season was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic, arena football is making a comeback for 2021. The Orlando Predators’ first home game is June 19, at Amway Center. The season will run through the first week of August.

The Orlando Predators players will reside at Villas at Fortune Place, and practice minutes away at Tohopekaliga (Toho) High School in Kissimmee. Visiting teams will stay at various hotels throughout Osceola County.

“We are thrilled to host the Predators and fans for their lodging needs this season while the team plays in nearby Orlando,” said Tyler Weyant, Sports Development Manager for Kissimmee Sports Commission. “The sports industry has proven to be resilient through the pandemic as we have safely hosted many events throughout the last year. Those events, and hosting the Predators, would not be possible without the help of our industry partners.”
