Experience Kissimmee Unzips Winter Marketing Campaign in Chicago
Millennium Park Takeover Features 200-foot Zipline, Toasting Tent, One Warm Coat® Drop Zone and More

KISSIMMEE, Fla. (Jan.26, 2016) - Wouldn't you want to zip down to Florida and chill out under the warm Florida sun?

That's the key messaging a delegation from Experience Kissimmee will share when they introduce Chicagoans to some high-speed, high-flying fun at Millennium Park, Feb. 13-15. To help deliver the message, Experience Kissimmee is erecting a 200-foot zipline that invites Chicago area residents to make a brisk beeline from the top of a three-story platform, down to a warm winter welcome below. The campaign, dubbed "Escape Cold. Warm Your Heart," encourages Chicagoans to plan a vacation to Kissimmee.

"Kissimmee is just minutes away from some of the world's most popular theme parks and is a gateway to many exciting natural experiences as well," stated DT Minich, president & CEO of Experience Kissimmee. "Whether ziplining through the treetops, kayaking the headwaters of the Everglades or taking a backcountry airboat or swamp buggy adventure, visitors to Kissimmee have many ways to enjoy the pristine beauty of Florida. For this campaign, we decided to bring some of the warm-weather fun to our freezing friends here in Chicago."

In addition to the zipline experience, the public can register to win a Kissimmee vacation and other prizes, enjoy a hot chocolate bar and stock up on Kissimmee branded cold weather gear in the Toasting Tent. There will also be photo opportunities with a baby alligator from Gatorland. The zipline and Toasting Tent are free to the public, but Experience Kissimmee is encouraging participants to bring a new or gently used coat to the One Warm Coat® Drop Zone. All donated coats will be distributed to local children and adults in need.
With more than 26 non-stop daily flights from Chicago to the Orlando International Airport, Kissimmee is an ideal destination for residents of the Midwest to escape the bitter cold and enjoy some heartwarming experiences that will last well beyond the spring thaw. Beyond the event in Millennium Park, the marketing campaign includes interactive storefronts, taxi cab television advertisements and television broadcasts that will extend through March 2016.

Located at the North Chase Promenade of Millennium Park (201 East Randolph Street), the Experience Kissimmee station will be operational from 11 a.m.-5 p.m., Feb. 13-15.
