Kissimmee, Fla. (October 10, 2024) — Following Hurricane Milton's passage through Osceola County, Experience Kissimmee reports that damage to tourism infrastructure was minimal, and tourism activities will gradually resume beginning October 10, 2024.

Local authorities and emergency teams worked quickly to assess and secure the affected areas, ensuring the safety of both residents and visitors. Thanks to these efforts, the impact on tourist attractions and services has been limited, allowing for the early recovery of local businesses and entertainment activities.

“We are grateful for the support and collaboration of our law enforcement, local businesses and residents who have worked tirelessly to ensure Kissimmee continues to be a safe and welcoming destination for our visitors,” said DT Minich, President and CEO of Experience Kissimmee. “Fortunately, damage was minimal, and we can confirm that tourism operations will gradually resume today.”

Major tourist attractions, hotels, restaurants and stores in Kissimmee will begin operating following all safety recommendations. In addition, nearby theme parks, such as Walt Disney World Resort and Universal Orlando Resort, have also announced the resumption of their activities in the coming days.
