The Adult Literacy League trains volunteers to serve as one-to-one or small group tutors to the more than 3,000 adult learners we serve each year. They teach adults to read, write and speak English. Their students come from 80 different countries around the world (the US included). The family literacy program puts books and educational materials into the hands of at-risk and at-need children and their families. The Adult Literacy League teaches adults the importance of being the first teacher in their children's lives. The mission of the Adult Literacy League is to educate adults to become self-sufficient members of society and they advocate on behalf of adult and family literacy.
