Are you ready to run in support of the unsung heroes of public safety? The sixth annual “Run for 9-1-1” Charity 5k Run/Walk will take place Saturday, June 15 in Kissimmee. The race starts at 7 a.m. This event is open to runners and walkers in the greater Orlando community to say, “Thank You 9-1-1!” and raise funds for scholarships and wellness programs for 9-1-1 professionals. You can register for this Charity 5k here. The price to participate in this run is $30.00 per person or $100.00 for a team of five. If you cannot make the race and still want to show your support for these local heroes, you can participate in the Virtual Run for 911 with a price of $35.00 per person. The registration deadline is June 16, 2019 at 9 a.m. All pre-registered runners will receive a commemorative shirt and ALL FINISHERS will receive a custom medal. The top three male and female finishers will receive Grand Prizes. The 9-1-1 Association improves 9-1-1 through research, standards development, training, education, outreach, and advocacy. Their vision is a public made safer and more secure through universally-available state-of-the-art 9-1-1 systems and better-trained 9-1-1 professionals.
