What's New and What's Next in 2019

If your New Year’s resolution is to take all those vacation days in 2019, Kissimmee is the perfect place to go! Magical theme parks, wild outdoor experiences, and old-fashioned American nostalgia combine to create a vacation the whole family will love. Fun is on our schedule all year, but there are a few big events and openings that we’ve circled on our calendar—and you should too! Check out all that’s new and next in Kissimmee for 2019.

The Grand Reopening of Old Town

After two years of fresh renovations and extensive expansions, Old Town Kissimmee will be welcoming visitors to an enhanced turn-of-the-century Florida experience. New shops will be ready to enjoy, an 86-foot Ferris wheel imported from Italy will be ready to ride, and a whole new music lineup will be ready to entertain. Plus, three new restaurants are on Old Town’s grand reopening menu—Froggers Bar & Grill, Shoney’s Restaurant, and Bobby’s Garage Bar.

Sing along to karaoke on Tuesdays, settle in for family movie night on Sundays, and, as always, marvel at Old Town’s classic car shows on Fridays and Saturdays. Join us on April 6, 2019 for all the grand reopening fun.

Set Out on a Safari—In Your Car!

Wild Florida Airboats & Gator Park is set to open a drive-through safari park in 2019. Drive in your own car along gravel paths or hop on a guided swamp buggy tour to see more than 100 exotic animals like giraffes and zebras, plus native Florida wildlife. Wild Florida is adding an incredible 75 acres to its existing 13-acre park, giving creatures plenty of room to roam, and space for you to get up close with nature.

Want to add a little adrenaline to your Wild Florida adventure? The park will also be adding a zipline over the grazing area, cypress swamp, and scenic landscapes for a thrilling ride we can’t wait to try!

Take a Stroll Down Sesame Street

Explore the neighborhood as you visit Mr. Hooper’s store, sit on the famous 123 stoop, and meet your favorite characters including Cookie Monster, Elmo, and Big Bird.

Exciting rides and interactive experiences are also in store, promising fun for the whole family. Plus, Sesame Street will be home to SeaWorld Orlando’s first-ever parade! Bert, Ernie, and the gang will host a daily party that will have you dancing in the streets.
