Sticking With Your New Year's Resolution While on Vacation in Kissimmee

Wow - doesn't this year look different than last year! 2020 was full of surprises and we know next year can't come soon enough. You and your family might be thinking about new resolutions for the year ahead. This year taught us many things about family, togetherness, health, virtual opportunities, and so much more. Our sunny destination still remains the ideal location to regroup with family, redo memories, restart your health goals, and re-evaluate what's most important.

Calling All Aspiring Outdoorsy Visitors

If your vision for 2021 is getting in touch with nature, you've come to the right place. There are all sorts of outdoor activities waiting for you in Kissimmee, where social distancing has always been natural. Visit Wild Florida for a journey through 100,000 acres of pristine, untouched wetlands. Here, you can see all sorts of wildlife, including Snowflake and Blizzard, the rare albino alligators. You can still hug a sloth or enjoy a ride in your own vehicle through the outdoor Drive-Thru Safari where you can see animals from all around the world, and even feed a giraffe!

Looking to see even more of the great outdoors? Take to the skies on a hot air balloon ride with Orlando Balloon Rides. You'll soar over orange groves, dense swamps, towering forests, and anywhere else the wind blows (literally!). A balloon ride offers outdoor adventurers a whole new perspective on what makes Central Florida so beautiful — as well as a chance to take some fantastic snapshots.

For the Health Conscious

Is health your priority in 2021? We hope it is! We all learned a lot about what it truly means to stay healthy and keep others safe as well. And you're in luck when you visit Kissimmee because there are plenty of active attractions that will have you feeling good about more than just your exercise goals.

For a laidback excursion, take a stroll through The Disney Wilderness Preserve. At 11,500 acres, this reserve is home to over 1,000 species of plants and animals — many of which you can see for yourself as you walk along the hiking trail that leads to Lake Russell. Prefer being on the water rather than beside it? Chart a course for The Paddling Center at Shingle Creek and rent a kayak, canoe, or paddleboard to leisurely make your way through the heart of natural Florida. For a really unforgettable experience, book a Full Moon Tour and let the light of the night be your guide.

New Year, New You, New Things to Do

Has the new year inspired you to become a little more adventurous? Maybe you've decided to reinvent yourself as a thrill-seeker, or, at the very least, someone who strives to try a few new things? Either way, you can reach your resolution in Kissimmee — where there's something new waiting around every corner.

Want to know what it feels like to climb to the top of a pine tree forest? Find out at Orlando Tree Trek Adventure Park. And along the way, you'll swing like Tarzan, fly like an eagle, and try your hand at the trapeze (where you'll float through the air with ease).

If your resolution involves zipping out of your comfort zone, strap into the Screamin' Gator Zip Line at Gatorland. The Screamin' Gator Zip Line will give you a bird's-eye view of some of Gatorland's most famous residents before culminating in a journey high above an alligator breeding marsh. What better way to introduce the bold and brave new you?

Not every new experience needs to get your heart racing, however. Maybe 2021 is the year you swim with the dolphins at Discovery Cove, ride a horse at Lazy H Ranch, have the time of your life at Revolution Offroad, or catch the big one with a little help from Guided Bass Tours. Who knows what else we'll see in 2021?

Resolving to Relax

Are you ready to add some chills to your thrilling 2021? It's always good to take time to relax, and it's easy to do when you visit Kissimmee.

How does spending more time dining outside sound? Central Florida has nice weather year-round for you to enjoy your favorite meals outdoors. And if anything, 2020 taught restaurants how to adapt and make room for more options beyond the inside dining rooms. Taverna Opa is always ready for a party with live music, happy hour, and authentic Greek cuisine. If you're visiting Celebration Town Center, you must stop by Celebration Town Tavern or Columbia Restaurant for a delicious meal with views of the gorgeous area.
