Latest Central Florida Theme Park Updates

With many of the world’s favorite theme parks located right here in sunny Central Florida, we want to provide you with the latest updates regarding reopenings, changes in operating hours, and safety measures for our area’s major attractions.

Please note: We will update this post as additional information becomes available. Please visit the theme park websites prior to planning your visit.

Walt Disney World Resort 

 

Walt Disney World Resort will begin reopening the theme parks in phases starting July 11, 2020. Please see below for the opening dates and some of the enhanced safety precautions that will be in place for guests visiting the parks. For all the know-before-you-go information for Walt Disney World locations, please visit the official updates webpage. Disney has not yet released reopening dates for Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park or Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park.

  • Magic Kingdom Park - July 11, 2020
  • Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park - July 11, 2020
  • Disney's Hollywood Studios - July 15, 2020
  • Epcot - July 15, 2020

Disney Springs is currently open with limited locations and enhanced safety measures. Click here for a full list of reopenings. 

Health and Safety Protocols: 

  • Reduced capacity at theme parks, restaurants, retail, attractions, buses, monorails, and other transportation that enables appropriate social distancing
  • Temporarily suspended parades, fireworks, and other events that create crowds
  • Physical distancing barriers and queues
  • Increased cleaning protocols
  • Temperature screening
  • Cashless transactions
  • Face coverings required for all employees and guests over the age of 3
  • Reduced hours at select locations
  • No scheduled entertainment
  • Hand-washing stations and hand sanitizer in key areas
  • Limited parking and entrances (Disney Springs)

Universal Orlando Resort 

 

Universal Studios Florida, Universal’s Islands of Adventure, and Universal’s Volcano Bay will welcome guests beginning June 5, 2020. This carefully managed reopening comes with stringent new health, safety, and hygiene procedures in place to protect both guests and Team Members. Please note, at the moment of arrival, each guest will be temperature checked and must follow the guidelines below:

  • Face coverings must be worn
  • Keep at least 6 feet between guests at all times
  • Use the floor markings when standing in line
  • Use hand sanitizer when required

Universal CityWalk is now open from 4-8 p.m. daily with limited capacity of 50 percent. For the select restaurants and shops currently open, visit here for the full list.

SeaWorld Parks & Resorts Orlando 

 

SeaWorld Parks & Resorts Orlando will reopen all of its parks beginning June 11, 2020. This includes SeaWorld Orlando theme park, Aquatica, and Discovery Cove. The park will enact enhanced safety measures for the safety of all employees and guests, including those listed here. Reservations will be available starting at 10 a.m. ET on June 8, 2020. Please visit SeaWorld Orlando, Aquatica, and Discovery Cove for more details on reserving your entry into the park. 

  • Face masks must be worn by all employees and guests over the age of 2
  • Increased cleaning protocols
  • Temperature screening
  • Cashless transactions
  • Physical distancing barriers and queues
  • Social distancing
  • Hand-washing stations and hand sanitizer at entrances and exits of each attraction
  • Reduced capacity, including in pools and rivers at Aquatica and for all attractions

LEGOLAND Florida Resort 

 

LEGOLAND® Florida Resort is officially open. This includes the theme park and water park. LEGOLAND will initially open with adjusted operating hours, and extensive measures are being taken to ensure the health and safety of guests and employees with the following measures.   • Enhanced cleaning regimes
  • Reduced capacity
  • Social distancing practices
  • Cashless payments
  • Facial masks will be recommended and encouraged. Disposable masks will be available for pickup on-site.
