An old car outside Old Town Kissimmee

Ladies and gentlemen, start your engines! If you’re cuckoo for cars, you’ll love it here in Kissimmee. From plenty of weekly shows to annual world-famous auctions, our car culture is alive and well.

Driving to Kissimmee

Are you and the family hitting the highway for a good old-fashioned road trip to Kissimmee? Sounds like fun to us! Luckily, we’re easy to find. If you’re driving from the North, take I-95 South to I-4 West. Then, merge onto the Florida Turnpike — exits 242, 244, and 249 all provide easy access to and from Kissimmee.

If you’re traveling west to visit, U.S. Highway 192 West is Kissimmee’s primary tourist corridor. Once you’re on this road, you can’t miss us — just follow the brightly colored guide markers along the way, and you’ll be here in no time!

Oh, and remember, every drive deserves a great playlist! Check out a few we’ve put together over on our Spotify page.

Driving Around Kissimmee

As you already heard, driving around Kissimmee is easy, especially if you’re taking U.S. Highway 192. Getting a vehicle for your vacation is just as simple, thanks to our many car rental partners. You’ll find all the major rental agencies here, from Alamo Rent A Car to Thrifty Car Rental and everything in between. In addition, you’ll find options right at the airport and even a Budget Rent A Car in Old Town Kissimmee. And trust us, they know a thing or two about cars. In fact, let’s shift gears and talk all about their car connections.

Engines Are a Go at the Old Town Car Show

Automotive admirers flock to Old Town Kissimmee to see their unforgettable car shows. Three nights a week, Old Town transforms into a cornucopia of cars with some of the coolest automobiles on the planet on display for you to check out.

On the weekends, the fun begins on Friday night with the Muscle Car Show & Cruise where you can watch muscle and performance cars produced between 1964 and 1983 parade up and down the street. Then, on Saturday, it’s time for the classics. For over 30 years, hard-charging hot rods, sleek street rods, and blasts from the past produced before 1983 have all had their chance to shine in the spotlight during Old Town’s Saturday Night Classic Car Show.

But the weekends don’t have all the fun in Old Town. In fact, the Wednesday Night Car Show might be the most intriguing of all. That’s because this show features a rotating theme. One week, you could be checking out titanic trucks and magnificent Mustangs. Then, come back next Wednesday, and you might find Torinos on tour. With so many cool cars throughout Central Florida, you never know what you’re going to get on Wednesdays in Old Town — which is what makes it so much fun!

A Sunset Drive at Sunset Walk

Sure, it may be called Promenade at Sunset Walk, but make no mistake, the engines start revving here on the second Sunday of every month. That’s because, from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m., the Promenade plays host to hundreds of cars and trucks, ranging from timeless classics to modern marvels. You’ll see vehicles of all eras, makes, and models at this show. Plus, local DJs will bring the hits and play all your favorites as you check out the vehicles.

But that’s not all, Promenade at Sunset Walk also hosts special car shows throughout the year, including Trunk or Treat at Halloween (complete with costumes and candy), a Thanksgiving car and truck food drive in November, and Santa’s Toy Drive in December (where, rumor has it, the big guy himself might give the reindeer the night off and show up in a horse-powered sleigh!).

Find the Car of Your Dreams at Mecum Auctions

Does all this talk about classic cars have you itching to find the vehicle of your dreams? Then you’re coming to the right place! Every year, Kissimmee hosts Mecum Auctions — the world leader in vintage and collector car and motorcycle sales — for a week of fast-paced and fun-fueled auctions. Mecum has been at this for over 30 years, and you can expect to see some absolutely incredible cars and motorcycles on the block during the 2024 Kissimmee auction, which runs from January 2 - 14, 2024. And when we say incredible, we mean it.
