Magical Merriment at Walt Disney World Resort
Walt Disney World Resort is flourishing with festive fancies throughout the parks. With brand-new entertainment and traditions you know and love, the holiday season is the perfect time to visit.
For the first time ever, the holidays are coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park! Of course, the enchanted Tree of Life is lit in all its holiday glory, and brand-new holiday décor and entertainment surround the park. Each section of the park has its own candy cane twist on décor. Plus, you’ll discover a whimsical winter scene with life-size, artisan-sculpted animal puppets in Discovery Island. From reindeers and foxes to cuddly polar bears, these puppets are creatively unique and incredibly heartwarming.
As you walk through Asia, spot the glowing flowers and lanterns above. This district is celebrating Diwali – the festival of lights in India. Once you reach Pandora – The World of Avatar, you’ll see the expats living here brought Christmastime to their alien home. You’ll spot these items especially at Pongu Pongu, where a display of décor that combines vintage pieces from Earth with handcrafted items from Pandora surround the area.
At Magic Kingdom Park, Mickey and Minnie Mouse are celebrating Christmas at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. This special ticketed event is only on select nights from now until Dec. 22, and it’s the perfect opportunity for you and your family to dress up in holiday jammies. Watch as Queen Elsa kicks off the celebration by lighting Cinderella Castle with beautiful icicles. Joyful music wisps through the lands as you spot your favorite characters in their festive attire. You can also join in on more festive fun at A Totally Tomorrowland Christmas, Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration stage show, and the jolliest treat stations you’ve ever seen. From cheerful meet and greets to falling snow and sweet treats, this is the merriest party of the year!
While you’re there, you can catch Mickey’s Once Upon A Christmastime Parade, where you can sing along to favorite Christmas carols and see dancing gingerbread men, marching toy soldiers, and so much more! And brand-new this year is Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks. These merry and very bright fireworks light up the night sky with festive colors. The castle projections dance along with the carols and it’s something you won’t want to miss. Since this much holiday cheer can certainly work up an appetite, sip on special drinks and eat specialty treats like Olaf’s Frozen Hot Chocolate Cake and the Snowflake Brownie. Also, don’t forget to ride the select attractions with holiday twists that can only be experienced during the party.
The 2019 Epcot International Festival of the Holidays is almost here with the Candlelight Processional beginning Nov. 29 through Dec. 30, where celebrity narrators including Neil Patrick Harris and Steven Curtis Chapman accompanied by a choir and orchestra tell the Christmas story. Also, enjoy the Yuletide Extravaganza – a joyous holiday tradition of the 11 World Showcase nations, and the Holiday Cookie Stroll where you collect five official cookies to earn a complimentary Santa Mickey Sugar Cookie!
We can’t forget about the Disney’s Hollywood Studios Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! spectacular. This larger-than-life nighttime event lifts the holiday spirit with Christmas carols, laser effects, fireworks, and even snow! You can also catch the Sunset Seasons Greetings yuletide projection show against Hollywood Tower Hotel on Sunset Boulevard.
Rounding out your Disney holiday cheer is the Disney Springs Christmas Tree Trail. From now until Jan. 5, you can walk the winding path lined with 23 Disney-themed trees. This festive forest is an enchanting experience filled with jolly surprises at every turn.
Joyful Jingles at Universal Orlando Resort
Holidays at Universal Orlando Resort are here until Jan. 5, 2020. Unwrap the resort-wide celebrations that take the season to a whole new level. At Universal Studios Florida, enter The Wizarding World of Harry Potter™ – Diagon Alley™ as festive décor, brilliant lighting, and holiday treats surround the area. You can even watch as Celestina Warbeck and the Banshees perform a special show with never-before-heard songs such as A Cauldron Full of Hot, Strong Love, and more charming sensations.
A favorite annual tradition for many, Universal’s Holiday Parade featuring Macy’s is on its way! Merry and mayhem approach as you spot the Minions joining Santa Clause in this incredible parade. You can also watch the Mannheim Steamrollers during live performances of some of their best-selling holiday tunes.
At Universal’s Islands of Adventure, explore The Wizarding World of Harry Potter™ – Hogsmeade™ where shops are festively decorated with extravagant garland and lights. Walk through the streets as the Frog Choir sings seasonal melodies and enjoy the dazzling projection of holiday cheer at The Magic of Christmas at Hogwarts™ Castle show.
For the young ones who love classic Dr. Seuss, the Grinchmas Who-liday Spectacular is here for yet another year. This live retelling of The Grinch is the heartwarming story that combines the warm fuzzies inside with a dash of sarcasm in this hilarious hijinks.
Sparkling Spectacular at SeaWorld Parks & Resort Orlando
SeaWorld Orlando Christmas Celebration is making its way to Central Florida Nov. 23 through Dec. 31. This holiday celebration is full of festive shopping, delicious food, stunning live shows, and more as the park transforms into a winter wonderland.
Sparkling holiday cheer surrounds you as over three million beautiful lights dazzle the area. Gather ‘round for the new Sesame Street Parade featuring all the beloved characters dressed in their holiday best. Enjoy the new Sea Lion High: The Christmas Special as the sea lions perform their silliest show about saving Christmas. Also, new this year is the Pets Ahoy Holiday Spectacular where furry friends join Santa’s Helpers in an adorable interactive show.
For classic carols and a live nativity scene, O Wondrous Night is a must-see. And while passing through the sparkling lights, test your ice-skating skills at the Winter Wonderland on Ice! The sea of lit trees sparkles over the lake to create a view that you’ll remember forever. As the heart of the park, the Sea of Tree glistens at 70-feet high with incredible holiday lights.
Dazzling Days at LEGOLAND Florida Resort
The LEGOs invite you to a series of seasonal shows, sweet treats, and twinkling lights throughout LEGOLAND Florida Resort. Meet LEGO Santa and LEGO Toy Soldier, take photos on a sleigh pulled by reindeer, or watch the Holly Jolly Jubilee at Santa’s Workshop. This interactive light show is jam-packed with singing, dancing, and a 30-foot LEGO tree!
Let it Snow in Celebration
From Nov. 30 to Dec. 31, Downtown Celebration celebrates its 21st year of Now Snowing. Experience the area’s only synthetic ice rink while enjoying live performances from Charles Dickens carolers. Travel through the beautifully lit up town on a horse-drawn carriage or the Celebration Express Train. The nightly snowfall sets the scene for a perfect holiday celebration. Also, on Dec. 14, the Countdown to Christmas begins! This free concert is open to all families and there’s usually a surprise celebrity artist in attendance.
Deck the Bok Tower Gardens
Pinewood Estate transforms into a holiday showplace of seasonal holiday foliage right before your eyes at Bok Tower Gardens where the beautiful scenery makes for picture-perfect Christmas card photos. From Nov. 29 to Jan. 5, this 25-year tradition invites you and your family to walk through the beautiful gardens while listening to carillon concerts. Your family can also make an ornament with live succulents and air plants or create your own floral centerpiece for your seasonal spread.
‘Tis the Season at ICE!
ICE! Featuring THE POLAR EXPRESS has arrived at Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center. This Kissimmee tradition takes you on a journey of imagination through the story of The Polar Express. With hand-carved sculptures and displays from more than two million pounds of ice, ICE! is an extravaganza that can’t be missed.
This year, this beloved event includes memorable activities for the entire family. Enjoy snow tubing down an eight-lane tubing hill covered in real snow, be dazzled at Cirque Dreams Unwrapped where seasonal characters perform on stage – Broadway-style, earn your badge at Secret Santa Scavenger Hunt where you can decode clues and become one of Santa’s Secret Service members, and so much more!
Gather your family and listen to Mrs. Claus’ Christmas Traditions as she tells the classic ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas, decorate cookies at the Gingerbread Decorating Corner, listen to the Sounds of the Season concert series, and even attempt to erase your name off the naughty list at the Naughty and Nice Escape Room.
