Things To Do

Kissimmee, known for its local theme parks, outdoor adventures, and for being the Vacation Home Capital of the World®, also has a small town feeling. For National Mom & Pop Business Owners Day we would like to bring the spotlight to some of our local attractions that are family owned!

Orlando Tree Trek

An adventure park for those looking for extreme adventures and challenging yourselves while on vacation, Orlando Tree Trek was started by the Lemieux and Barbusci families. This park is set on a 15-acre pine tree forest where you’ll enjoy an aerial view from one of their nine agility courses for various age groups and 97 games for climbers of every level! Orlando Tree Trek was built with guest safety as a priority, which is why only the best material and equipment is used to ensure everyone has a safe and carefree experience. They exceeded industry construction standards when creating this unique outdoor adventure park, and to them, this is how a family owned business makes a difference!

If you’re looking to make your heart race and challenge your entire family, then book today and test your courage as you climb ladders 50-feet up, cross wobbly suspended bridges and navigate swinging logs!

Forever Florida

This gem is owned by the Broussard Family, who started The Allen Broussard Conservancy in efforts to protect and preserve Florida’s natural wildlife. Forever Florida is a 3,200-acre undisturbed natural ecosystem that also includes a 200-acre development consisting of a summer camp, a 3,300 foot FAA approved airstrip, a reconstructed homestead cabin, and two modern cabins. Also, part of the property includes the Crescent J. Ranch, an 1,800-acre working cattle ranch with three endangered livestock breeds. The Broussard Family named the conservancy in memory of their son, Allen Broussard, who was a wildlife biologist and ecologist.

Forever Florida is home to the first zipline roller coaster in the USA, the Zipcoaster, launching you from a 65-foot-high platform and zipping through trees at speeds of 20 mph. You can also race your friends and family on their Racing Zipline, the fastest and longest single straightaway zipline in Florida. You’ll jump off a 71-foot-high platform and soar at 30 mph down a 1,300-foot extreme zipline. Then test your limits by stepping off the Panther Pounce, you’ll freefall from a seven-story platform. But if adventure is not for you, you can always enjoy a leisurely horseback ride or nature tour they offer.

Boggy Creek Airboat Rides

Boggy Creek Airboat Rides started in 1994 by the Long Family as the original airboat company in Central Florida with just one six-passenger airboat. These watercraft weren’t common in Central Florida due to the popularity of South Florida’s Everglades, So Boggy Creek worked long and hard to make a name for their family owned business, putting in seven days a week, even holidays during their first two years. Their two children, Matt and Lauren Long, would spend their days fishing off the dock and collecting frogs to pass time. Hard work and dedication paid off for the Long Family as today they have over eight 17-passenger airboats and four six-passenger private airboats, and they opened a second location in 1996.

At Boggy Creek, you can enjoy sunset tours, scenic nature tours, swamp excursions or night expeditions – each providing a lifetime of memories as you experience the wild and come face to face with the American alligator and other wildlife!
