You may start planning your vacation to Central Florida for the world-famous theme parks, but did you know Kissimmee is flourishing with off the beaten path activities? These hidden gems will round out your next trip and make it even more memorable than ever before! 

Boggy Creek Airboat Adventures

Whether it’s your first time visiting Florida or you’re a returning vacationer, Boggy Creek Airboat Adventures is a must! There’s nothing quite like gliding over the water in an airboat and spotting incredible wildlife such as alligators, wild hogs, cows, bald eagles, and an array of different birds. The Headwater of the Everglades breeze welcomes you to hold on tight and keep your eyes peeled for native animals. And speaking of native, the Native American Village is a tremendous chance to learn about the history of first villages in the area. 

You can try your hand at archery, mine for gold, and chow down on some delicious barbecue. The scenic, serene views along with the excitement of experiencing new things can all be found right here. 

Bok Tower Gardens

Just a few miles from Kissimmee is a lovely garden area called Bok Tower Gardens. Walk through the many acres of historic landscape and discover tranquil resting spots, breathtaking views of the Singing tower, and ideal spots to snap a picture. You’ll come across the natural habitats of wildlife including 126 species of birds, the gopher tortoise, and more.

Walk through the Pinewood Estate or Hammock Hollow, then make your way to the many nature trails on preserved land. Listen as nature and the chiming tower surround you and enjoy a whimsical day of peace. 

Revolution Adventures

Prepare for a one-of-a-kind experience at Revolution Adventures. This beautiful property of 230 acres surrounds a lake where you can fish and boat or simply relax in a rocking chair overlooking the views. From archery to ATVs, this is an outdoor lover’s paradise. You can rent the most exhilarating, motorized vehicles to fit your comfort level. Take a ride in the Mucky Duck that gets submerged in the lake or ride side by side in a Buggy through the mud and dips of the property. If you prefer to take it up a notch, the ATV rides through all the trails and leaves you with the power to dip and weave through the trees. 

Wallaby Ranch

Have you ever wanted to soar through the air? Well at Wallaby Ranch, your dreams will come true! This isn’t just a theme park attraction, it’s the real deal. Hang glide over the beautiful Kissimmee area with your guide by your side. You’ll be 2,000 feet in the air and really get the best bird’s eye view of the ranch below. While up in the air, “fly” for the first time as you free fly for about 15 minutes. Don’t worry – your instructor will show you the ropes!

The Paddling Center at Shingle Creek

Although the route to The Paddling Center at Shingle Creek is mainly on the bustling 192, the center itself is a true off the beaten path place. One minute you’re spotting all the Kissimmee attractions along the way such as Old Town Kissimmee and Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament, and then the next, you’re off under the umbrella of towering trees kayaking through smooth waters. You’ll spot your fair share of wildlife on the journey and if you choose to do a guided tour, you’ll learn plenty about the area fauna and animals. This adventure is for any age and truly brings new meaning to tranquility.

Kissimmee Lakefront Park

Take it really slow and stop by for a relaxed experience of history, shopping, dining, and enjoying the company of your family and friends. Walk the beautiful nature trail, play I spy at the Monument of States, and enjoy Big John’s BBQ out on the open lawn for your very own picnic. 

After you’ve explored the park along the water, take a look at the additional dining spots and unique shopping boutiques in the quaint town nearby. It’s truly a great place to stop and smell the roses.
