What's New in Kissimmee 2021

Fireworks shooting into the night sky

2020 taught all of us that plans – including events and vacations – can change. 2021 is finally here and Central Florida has many new things coming this year. Kissimmee is ready to welcome returning and first-time visitors to the destination and can’t wait to give families an experience that will be remembered forever – and for all the right reasons. From thrilling adventures to wild safari rides, here’s what’s next for the new year.

Safety For All

Although safety has always been top priority for our sunny destination, the local attractions, accommodations, and restaurants have gone to great lengths to add even more safety protocols. Since vacations require a bit more planning and preparation than before, we’ve partnered with AdventHealth to provide you with a Safety Hub for all things health before you arrive. It’s the perfect resource for area updates and safety protocols when visiting your favorite attractions.

Attractions That’ll Wow the Whole Family

Walt Disney World Resort

Exciting new things continue to transpire at Walt Disney World Resort. New attractions and unforgettable experiences are emerging at Epcot that you won’t want to miss. In 2021, enjoy a new ride in the France pavilion with Remy! Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure is an exciting experience where you’ll be alongside your favorite little chef in a race through Gusteau’s restaurant. Plus, a delicious eatery crafted by celebrity chef Jérôme Bocuse, La Crêperie de Paris, is sure to delight with both table- and quick-service options.

The magic doesn’t stop there! A new nighttime spectacular of fireworks and beauty arrives at EPCOT. Harmonious will be the largest fireworks show ever created for a Disney park and you can enjoy the creation soon. This show will celebrate how the music of Disney inspires people from around the world – harmoniously.

Universal Orlando Resort

Welcome to the new Jurassic World VelociCoaster at Universal’s Islands of Adventure. It’ll be stomping in June 10 and will send you catapulting up to 70 mph and more than 150 feet in the air. It’s a high-speed chase that features an original story including the original cast of the films. It’s said to be Florida’s fastest and tallest launch coaster so hang tight and look out for dinosaurs!

Mardi Gras 2021: International Flavors of Carnaval is now included with your theme park ticket! From February 6 to March 28, enjoy the festival of global culinary cuisine, vibrant parade floats, surprise entertainment throughout the park, jazzy music, and, of course, Mardi Gras beads. You can even buy a tasting lanyard to taste your way around the international delights of Germany, Spain, and New Orleans - just to name a few.

LEGOLAND Florida Resort

SeaWorld Parks & Resorts

A chill is coming this spring to SeaWorld Orlando as its first launch coaster, Ice Breaker, debuts. Get ready for four airtime-filled launches – backward and forward – as well as a reverse launch into the steepest vertical drop in all of Florida. This 93-foot-tall drop at a 100-degree angle is sure to be a wild ride – even for the most courageous of coaster riders.

Wild Florida

Have you been through the Drive-thru Safari Park at Wild Florida yet? Well, next time you visit, you’ll get to experience an additional 185 acres and brand-new exotic and native animals at the park. The herds of wildlife and new rescued and relocated animals are being introduced to the park soon and you can be part of the excitement. Bring along your sense of adventure and enjoy the ride.

ICON Park

ICON Park is introducing several new experiences to the area in early 2021. A virtual experience is opening soon and it’s a must-see attraction. In The Game transforms an arcade into an immersive experience for your entire family. Also, you can now explore the Museum of Illusions. This new attraction features holograms, interactive immersions, and more.

Dining That Delights

The Promenade at Sunset Walk, one of the area’s dining and entertainment districts, welcomes new dining options for your entire crew this year. While favorites like Ford’s Garage and Rock & Brews continue to serve up their delicious dishes, these exciting additions will be a reason to come back again and again.

Lizzie’s Memphis Style BBQ is ordering up a variety of smoked and barbequed meats along with southern sides to the table. You can even order family packs for takeout or delivery that make any day after the excitement of attractions and adventures a mealtime breeze.

The Wharf
, a new seafood restaurant recently opened, features incredible seafood dishes and an oyster bar with fresh shellfish daily. You can sit at the large mezzanine or center bar that offers perfect views of the stage for live performances. If you’d rather be entertained by the kids, you can also order takeout or delivery for your own convenience.

River Street Sweets - Savannah’s Candy Kitchen is perfect for those craving something sweet after the area’s dinner delights. You can order tasty treats like the World Famous Pralines; saltwater taffy; crunchy, hand-stretched peanut brittle; or homemade pecan pies.
