Taste Your Way Around the World

Foodies, rejoice! The time is approaching to dust off your stretchy pants and dine around the world at the Walt Disney World® Epcot® International Food and Wine Festival 2016.
The annual event, now celebrating its 21st year, begins on September 14 and runs through November 14. And yes, if you're doing the math correctly, the festival will run for an additional Nine Days.
I'll let you process that for a second. That means nine more days of delicious food, mouth-watering desserts, the smoothest of wines, celebrity musical performances and you guessed it... more opportunities for Instagram pics to flood your feed. #MyKissimmee #EpcotFoodFest
Guests will have the opportunity to wine and dine around 30 marketplaces that feature culinary delights from across the nation, like the delicious New England Lobster Roll from the Hops & Barley booth to savory Korean-style BBQ Beef with steamed rice and cucumber kimchi from the South Korea booth (and also my favorite dish at the festival).
New This Year:
Wine & Dine Studio's seared scallop with truffled celery root puree, crisp Brussel sprouts and wild mushrooms. The dish pairs nicely with La Crema Chardonnay, which you'll find at the Hops & Barley booth (here's to hoping the booth is close by!).
A crowd favorite was the Islands of the Caribbean's mojo pork with black beans, cilantro rice and pickled red onion.
The Chew Collective's juicy grilled beef skewer with romaine, sweet apricots and feta cheese tasted delicious and fresh and paired well with Rosa Regale Sweet Red Sparkling Wine, which came as a surprise to me.
The Quesito puff pastry with sweetened cream cheese and guava sauce brought me back to life and sent me back to Puerto Rico a.k.a. the simpler times in my life.
The liquid nitro chocolate-almond truffle with warm whiskey-caramel came back this year and while it is not new, the experience of watching your dessert ascend from a mysterious cloud always feels new.
