Summer will bring Shark Season to SeaWorld® Orlando

This summer will be Shark Season at SeaWorld Orlando when their latest attraction Mako opens on June 10!
The park offered media members a peek behind the walls today as the new signature ride and upgraded park area continue to take shape.
Mako will be the destination's tallest, fastest and longest roller coaster when it debuts on June 10, 2016. Mako will also be the area's first hypercoaster, one designed for speed and relentless "air time" with tight turns, steep drops and power speeds. Riders will climb up to 200 feet high before plunging to reach speeds up to 73 mph with plenty of thrills and spectacular views along the way.
The new coaster will be the centerpiece of Shark Wreck Reef, a newly designed realm blending two staples of a visit to SeaWorld: education and thrills. Guests will be immersed in the underwater world of sharks as they ride the Mako coaster, see real sharks up close in Shark Encounter, dine amongst them at Sharks Underwater Grill and learn about the impact humans have on sharks and why these animals are critical to the environment.
When guests venture further into the realm and into the line for Mako, they'll find a special sound system to enhance the experience along with an original score that will follow them throughout the Mako journey!
A newly announced partnership with renowned scientist, marine wildlife artist and conservationist Guy Harvey will also be in the spotlight of Shark Wreck Reef. While in line for Mako, guests will be educated and entertained via digital platforms as Guy Harvey hosts clips that offer a glimpse at the real science of wild sharks along with ways to help protect them. In other areas, guests can access real-time shark tracking and videos from Guy Harvey’s library of shark expeditions.
Guy Harvey will also create exclusive paintings and apparel that will only be available at SeaWorld.
Mako joins current coasters Kraken and Manta. The trio of thrills is part of the fun mix of rides and shows waiting to be discovered at SeaWorld Orlando. Start planning your visit now, and buy your tickets in advance!
