Happy International Sloth Day!

While they may be one of the slowest mammals on earth, sloths are quickly finding their way into the hearts of millions. There is even an international day to celebrate the sloth, and that day is today!

These lazy tree-dwelling mammals are typically found in South and Central America, but Kissimmee offers you the opportunity to come face-to-face with these cute little animals at Wild Florida Airboats & Gator Park, just a short drive from Downtown Kissimmee.

Wild Florida is home to a whole family of sloths, six to be exact; one of which was born on their property a year and a half ago. With a happy go lucky expression and a gentle ease about them, it's hard not to fall in love immediately. If you think about it, every day in a sloths life is like a lazy Sunday.

While they typically sleep 15-21 hours a day, yes definitely sounds like my kind of weekend, it is amazing to see how quickly they move when there is food in sight. The Sloth Encounter at Wild Florida allows you the chance to enter into this tropical exhibit for a hands-on experience.
