#InstaMeetKissimmee: Gatorland Edition

A bridge overlooking a lake in Gatorland

Here in Kissimmee, we love to explore vacations on the wild side.

We might be famous for our theme parks and make-believe lands, but believe us when we say our outdoor adventures are equally spectacular. And how do you celebrate the diverse nature, natural wonder, and local wildlife you’re lucky to call home? You invite a few friends to explore it with you. Enter: Experience Kissimmee’s second-ever InstaMeet—#InstaMeetKissimmee.

On Friday, June 15th—Nature Photography Day—we invited 20 talented photographers to explore Gatorland with us. Where better to explore and enjoy Central Florida’s natural beauty than the home of hundreds of alligators?

When you think “Gatorland” your mind naturally wanders to thoughts of Florida’s raddest reptile. But, did you know there’s so much more to the Park than gators galore? More than 30 bird species flock to Gatorland throughout the year. Especially in the morning and later at night, you’ll see them perch on the treetops surrounding the Park. From a 15-minute Swamp Walk, to aerial views from the top of the Breeding Marsh Tower, there’s so much to explore at Gatorland, and we’re lucky to have discovered it with some new pals.

#InstaMeetKissimmee Recap

We gathered in the jaws of the Historic Gator Mouth for a group shot, and then we headed into the park. From Breeding Marshes to Adventure Hour to Flamingo Island, we explored almost every inch of the Alligator Capital of the World®. Here are just a few of the shots shared during the adventure.

Rise and shine! Luciana (@Lubarranco) caught a selfie while the gators were eating breakfast.

Carolina (@windowtoorlando) got up close and personal to Trezo Jo, one of Gatorland’s super rare white alligators. Fun fact: “Trezo Jo” is Cajun Creole for “Treasures Eye”.

Attractions Magazine (@attractionsmagazine) stopped by and snapped everything from baby gators, to big birds, to nature walks.

Madelyn (@imadelyn) climbed up, waaaay up, to the top of the Breeding Marsh Tower and snapped a selfie.

Jamey (@passholderjamey) found pops of color throughout the park, including this blue and gold macaw!

Thanks to everyone who came out!

Two Claws Up for Gatorland

We could not have pulled this InstaMeet off without our partner, Gatorland. From opening early for extra time with the animals, to giving us access to feeding times and the Park’s wildlife experts, Gatorland’s hospitality made this event happen.
