The queue experience is as charmed as it is mysterious. You’ll see Hagrid’s hut sitting at the edge of the Forbidden Forest, whose residents include a Hippogriff and even a baby dragon. The next stop is seemingly abandoned ruins containing material from Hagrid’s Care of Magical Creatures class. And finally, you’ll venture down a hallway with dragon eggs on the verge of hatching, as well as illustrations and figures of the magical creatures you’re about to encounter. At the end of the queue, you’ll have the chance to choose either riding on a motorbike or in the sidecar. The motorbike lets you ride like Hagrid, sitting up higher and allowing you to hold the handlebars. The sidecar is a bit lower and offers you Harry Potter’s perspective. Both offer unique viewpoints of the coaster, so you may want to ride it twice!

Once boarded, get ready to take the plunge deeper into the Forbidden Forrest. The coaster offers the most launches of any roller coaster in the world, with seven total launches! You’ll twist and turn as fast as 50 miles per hour while Hagrid guides you through this adrenaline-inducing journey.

Be prepared for surprises during the ride. Not only will you encounter enchanting creatures and Hagrid himself, but you'll also sling backwards and drop. Yes…drop. This ride offers the first-ever free-fall vertical drop in the U.S. So, grab those handlebars and don’t look down!

This wild ride will even bring you face-to-face with Fluffly, the three-headed dog acquired by Hagrid to guard the Sorcerer’s Stone. But you’ll have no time to fear, as you’ll be dashing in high-gear through the forest. You may also spot a majestic Centaur, Cornish Pixies, and a Blast-Ended Skrewt.

This ride is made for adventurers and thrill seekers, as it’s the longest roller coaster in Florida measuring nearly a mile! It’s fast and smooth, leaving you with the impression that you’re flying through the trees of this enchanted land. And after riding it a few times, you’ll have earned a Butterbeeror two.

Bigfire - A Nostalgic New Restaurant Opens At Universal Citywalk

Looking to recreate your childhood lakeside vacation? Well, now you can at Universal Orlando Resort’s new full-service restaurant, Bigfire. This brand-new restaurant at Universal CityWalk captures the nostalgia of family vacations around a campfire. With twinkling lights, campfire lanterns, and a suspended canoe, it’ll bring you right back to your favorite family memories. We had the honor of previewing this culinary experience opening this summer. Here’s a peek into what’s to come!

This two-story venue uses the essence of a lakeside retreat by immersing guests in the sights and sounds of a custom woodfire grill. The crackling of flames and smells of delectable, smoky cuisine sets the mood for an incredible evening fueled by an open-fire. The menu includes smoked brook trout dip, a signature bison burger, beer glazed scallops, and so much more. Bigfire uses three different woods – cherry, pecan, and oak – to prepare the meals. Each lumber changes the flavor profile and has a unique flavor that allows your taste buds to enjoy a new experience with each visit.

If you’re more of a sweets person, you can prepare your own s’mores right at your table. You won’t be disappointed by the generous selection of chocolates to enjoy with your crispy graham crackers and fluffy marshmallows. Reminisce while eating a delicious Dutch apple pie prepared in a skillet on a blue speckled enamel plate.

Around the corner on the first floor is a beautiful bar featuring themed signature cocktails. From lakeside punch to a white old fashioned with a fig garnish, these drinks are anything but ordinary. The exposed industrial piping and white granite counters continue to set the scene, and after grabbing a drink at the bar there’s perfect window seating overlooking gorgeous trees and even an outside fire pit. overhanging trees and red Adirondack chairs create a getaway from the hustle of the happenings at Universal CityWalk.

Wherever you sit – whether that’s downstairs in the cozy booths or upstairs in the great room with a comforting fireplace, you’ll feel right at home at this welcoming lakeside-inspired restaurant. We hope you enjoy Bigfire as much as we did. And, as Ric Florell, Executive Vice President of Resort Revenue Operations at Universal Orlando Resort said, “Welcome to our lake home.”
