Fan Favorites: The 3 Most Thrilling Roller Coasters

A large green roller coaster travels over water on a sunny day in Kissimmee.

The votes are in and it's official: We asked our Facebook fans to give us their picks for the area's top roller coasters, and they answered. They want more than just a rollicking ride—they like a coaster with some cinema cred, a great back story and nothing less than zero to 60 in no time flat. This best-of-the-best will literally astound you.

The Incredible Hulk Coaster®

Is it any surprise that this green machine strong-armed its way to the top of the list? Nestled within Universal's Islands of Adventure™, the much-heralded Hulk experience begins with you and other like-minded daredevils cast in the middle of a bio-radiological experiment about to go wrong. At 67 miles an hour, with a zero-gravity roll, plus a splash through water and seven inversions in all, this coaster earns its favored spot. You’ll feel like a super hero yourself once you've managed to withstand Hulk’s reverberating roar, the heat of his breath and the coaster’s super-charged propulsion. The recently enhanced ride now features super sleek vehicles; a ride score produced by Patrick Stump—front man for the rock band, Fall Out Boy; an all-new storyline; and a queue environment that resembles a high-tech scientific facility.

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster® Starring Aerosmith

Next best? Drum roll please . . . Disney's Hollywood Studios™ has the coolest and most musically themed roller coaster around. One second you're in a stretch limo cruising the dim streets of Los Angeles, the next you're thrust to 60 miles per hour, pulling 4.5 Gs. Aerosmith band members and their music accompany you on the ride of your life here as you head to a concert at their invitation, spotting Hollywood landmarks along the way. The soundtrack is high-decibel and the thrills—2 rollover loops and a corkscrew—are nothing if not high-level.

Mako™

In a word, "MAKO!!!" Voters can't get enough of this hypercoaster's impressive arc, which crests at 200 feet—no small matter when you're going a heart-pounding 73 miles per hour. SeaWorld® Orlando's new attraction is designed to make you feel like you're the ocean’s speediest shark chasing after its prey. This is not only Orlando’s tallest and fastest roller coaster (its hashtag—#nothingfaster—couldn’t be more apt); with a length of nearly one mile, it’s also its longest. Riders can’t help but feel ‘predator power’ as they surge up the hills and deep dive downward.
