Applications for Tourism Enhancement Grants funds are now being accepted from May 2, 2016 to June 17, 2016. Requests for funding are open to Osceola County non-profits and governmental entities seeking marketing and promotional support for special events/projects that appeal to tourists.
Only those events/programs occurring between October 1, 2016 and September 30, 2017 will be considered for funding.
Since 1988, it has been the policy of the Osceola County Board of Commissioners to use Tourist Development Tax Funds to support special events and projects that appeal to tourists. The Board of County Commissioners has charged the Osceola County Tourist Development Council to review and make recommendations on funding for special events and projects.
Those recommendations, if adopted, are included in the Experience Kissimmee's annual operating budget.
All events or projects funded by Tourist Development Tax revenues should enhance Osceola County's awareness and appeal to visitors, increase room nights and revenue for Osceola County and/or support the Experience Kissimmee/TDC mission to "Promote Tourism to Osceola County."
Organizations must also have a governing board, operate under a set of bylaws and submit IRS Form 990 to be considered for funding. The IRS Form 990 is the "Return of Organization Exempt From Income Tax" Form that provides the IRS with annual financial information on non-profit organizations.
Please review the following 2016-2017 Tourism Enhancement Grant Manual prior to completing the application.
