Although I live in Kissimmee, I still plan the majority of my trips to ensure that I can maximize time and select venues that match my family’s interests. I love to have fun, but I also believe that staying healthy is important as well. My reviews will highlight different attractions in Central Florida that offer those elements. While Brian and I do not have little ones yet, our outings are still appropriate for families and couples of all ages. Additionally, as families travelling with pets have become more popular, I will share with you some of the places, like Celebration, where you can visit while with Fido. As my staycation for i.seeKissimmee happens to fall on Valentine’s Day week, I will also provide some options for a unique romantic getaway. From scenic carriage rides with Misty Blue Acres to quiet dinner locales like the Grand Floridian Cafe or The Wave, Central Florida has a variety of choices! While in the middle of a vacation, a lot of people find it hard to fit a decent workout in, but the area is full of hidden treasures like Lotus Fitness Studio with no membership fees and drop in rates that make a quick yoga session easy and affordable. This week I will spotlight all of these options plus some money saving tips! One recommendation I give to anyone travelling anywhere is to always check sites like Groupon and Living Social for some great discounts on local places. If your travel itinerary is flexible or you live in the area, you may be able to snag anything from a hot air balloon ride to a wine tasting for half of what it normally costs. Sometimes, this is also a fun way to try a venue you would have otherwise never known about, like how I found the Ice Factory of Central Florida. Who would have thought that ice-skating in one of the hottest States in the U.S. was so popular? Another good tip is to check the websites of the venues you are visiting prior to buying tickets or going. A lot of businesses offer discounts on a special tab on their website or coupons that you can print directly from the site to use when you arrive. What could have been an expensive dinner show ending up being an affordable family outing when we did just this for the Pirate’s Dinner Adventure. While there are not always special discounts for all of the area’s attractions, there are still affordable options for fun-filled events like Splitsville, where you can enjoy dining and bowling in one. If you have the means to, one of the most spectacular places to visit and/or stay while in Central Florida is the Gaylord Palms. The Gaylord Palms is a small world of wonders including: a spa, several restaurants, bars and lounges, various shopping venues, a water park for kids and it even has its own golf club. Needless to say, there really is something for everyone at the Gaylord Palms just like there are activities for all budgets all in Central Florida! Why vacation anywhere else? Now that you know where we are going, let’s get started!
